On Thursday night the exhibition of 2009 winners was opened by Michelle Barrett, Media and Ops manager for the Loerie Awards at a well-attended function on the Cape Town campus. Scholars, students, lecturers and industry creatives attended presentations by the Loerie Awards themselves, Learning Curve and Adobe Systems. A highlight was the comprehensive overview of the new CS5 software suite. Mike Brennan from Labspace treated all to his live PhotoShop, Illustratior and AfterEffects magicshow, proving that you can be both a techie and a rockstar. He even signed the copy of the Loerie Annual which was won by Mornay Schoeman, principal of Inscape Design College.
