Internships are often the start of a prosperous career at a company and an invaluable chance to meet and interact with your new marketing and advertising industry peers socially and professionally.
Undergraduate and Honours Internships
All final year undergraduate and postgraduate degree students are required to successfully complete a one-month internship before they graduate.
These internships aim to create unique opportunities for students to experience real-life working situations within a company or agency and for employers to engage with young creative talent. They also provide the ideal opportunity for both the employer and the intern to form a long-term relationship. Our students often secure full-time positions in the same company or agency where they completed their internships
Imagination Labs Internships
The Lab program is a year-long program designed to equip previously disadvantaged students with real life skills, and to facilitate internships of students once they have completed their studies.
Registered with the SAQA as a Level 4 Further Education and Training Certificate in Advertising, the Lab's focus is on personal exploration and creative experimentation. The students are exposed to real world learning through an internship programme that is supported by agencies such as The Jupiter Drawing Room, DRAFT FCB, TBWA Hunt Lascaris, and Old Shanghai Fireworks Factory as well as Primedia Unlimited.
By employing Imagination Lab interns, companies or advertising agencies can take full advantage of the unique resource these students provide, contribute to skills transfer to the disadvantaged sector and increase their BEE profiles.
More than 700 students have passed through the Imagination Lab since its inception most being placed into fulltime positions.

Vega Graduates have been trained to become conceptual, design and systemic thinkers. They are problem solvers, who are able to add real value in the work place. As creative brand communicators Vega graduates are found to apply theory and rapidly adapt into the workplace due to the way they have been trained. Students partake in brand challenges and briefs received from companies as part of the curricula.
